The Early Modern English Grammars Archive (EMEGA) is a fully searchable digital archive of all nine English and Latin grammars published in England between 1542 and 1625. It provides scholars with the complete texts of the nine grammars in digital format in old spelling, modern spelling and, in the case of Latin grammars, English translation. By enabling scholars to search and compare the various grammars with one another, EMEGA fills a significant gap in scholarship and offers a key tool for understanding the translative processes at work in the transmission of classical texts.
